On December 30, 2010, Amazon.com finally opened the door for U.S. customers to share Kindle books. Shortly after the news about the Amazon Kindle book lending features appeared, a Facebook group started on December 31, 2010 for people to share Kindle books with other Facebook users. This platform has been used successfully to share Barnes and Noble Nook books that have Lend Me book permissions.

Facebook Groups to Share eBooks

You can not share a Kindle ebook to a Nook, and you can not share a Nook book to a Kindle. However, Kindle books can be shared across Amazon's wide net of Kindle apps, which include Kindle for Web, iPod Touch, iPhone, and iPad apps, Kindle for PC, and Kindle for Android devices. If someone needs to borrow a Kindle book, they do not need to have a Kindle.
