While war heroes are created and admired as to their direct participation in the battlefield, and they are mostly soldiers, there are also individuals without weapons who demonstrate outstanding courage without all the bloodshed. Ben Bruce Blakeney is unmistakably one of these individuals by fighting for genuine justice regardless of his nationality or cultural background.
Two Nuclear Bombs and the End of the War
On July 26, 1945, with the news of successful testing of nuclear bombs, the United States handed out an ultimatum to Japan to surrender.
While Japan hesitated to come to a consensus decision, in less than two weeks, two nuclear bombs of different types exploded three days apart (August 6th and 9th) in two cities. After the nuclear attacks, the U.S. military still continued to bomb Japan with intense air attacks until Japan’s surrender on August 14, 1945.
