You don’t have to be an expert on Buddhism to have a enlightened and balanced life. Simply having the desire to learn is enough to get started. Learning breathing techniques, practicing meditation, and reading about the history of Buddhism are just some steps toward becoming one with the universe. However, a good start is finding your 'dharma.' It can be said that once you know your dharma, you know your life's mission.

What is Dharma?

When looking up the definition of dharma in the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary-Tenth Edition, the first explanations states “an individual’s duty fulfilled by observance of custom or law.” There are many ways to apply this basic definition to your life. Generally, this definition describes the idea that we all have a path or duty on this planet. When taking this path or fulfilling this duty, we are not only giving, we are receiving back from the universe.
